Today is LIVESTRONG Day across the nation. The Lance Armstrong Foundation established LIVESTRONG Day as a global day of action to raise awareness about the fight against cancer. This year alone, nearly 8 million people will die of cancer worldwide. Sixty percent of all cancer is preventable. One-third can be cured if detected early and treated adequately.
The Lance Armstrong Foundation is doing some amazing things and deserves a lot of credit for their efforts and actions. The credo of the Lance Armstrong Foundation is a powerful one and one that we all can take to heart:
We believe in life. Your life.
We believe in living every minute of it with every ounce of your being.
And that you must not let cancer take control of it.
We believe in energy, channeled and fierce.
We believe in focus: getting smart and living strong.
Unity is strength. Knowledge is power. Attitude is everything.
Lance Armstrong has been quoted as saying, “I take nothing for granted. I now have only good days or great days.” A great reminder for all of us. Here’s hoping that your day is a great one!
