HALLOWEEN SAFETY TIPS
Halloween is here – YEAH!! Time for dressing up and trick-or-treating, activities that every child enjoys. To keep your little goblins safe, here are some Halloween safety tips:
● Carry a bright flashlight to illuminate sidewalks, steps and paths. Check batteries before leaving. Make it more fun for the kids and use glow sticks.
● Make sure the little ones use the restroom before venturing out.
● Always walk, do not run. You can slip and fall down. Rollerblades are usually not a good idea.
● Stay on the sidewalks. Cross the street at corners.
● Because one car stops, doesn’t mean others will. Make sure to pay attention to cars. Do not assume you have the right of way.
● Trick-or-Treat only in familiar neighborhoods.
● Do not cut across strangers yards or driveways.
● Wear comfortable walking shoes.
● Set a time for older kids to return home. Make sure they have a cell phone with them before leaving.
● Instruct your kids not to eat any treats until they bring them home to be examined by you.
● Stay away from animals you do not know. Even be careful of those you do know as Halloween can be a bit traumatic for animals.
● Carry a spare Halloween bag just in case.
We hope that everyone has a great and safe Halloween!
